Karabatak Karaköy
Karabatak, is called a cormorant bird in English, is a coffee house in Karaköy, Beyoğlu, Istanbul. This 2-storey old building together with the nearby shops of about 800 m² was previously an abandoned metal workshop and spare parts shop for any kind of industry. This abandoned metal workshop was renovated in 2010 and opened in June 2011. It has been converted into a coffee house with different sections such as a quiet section, a group section and a regular section. Karabatak is the symbolic bird of Istanbul, where you can see many of them diving for fish over the Bosphorus.
